Well, as I understand it, MHz refers to the number of times (cycles) per
second that a processor executes a command.  So a processor that runs at
50 MHz would execute 50 commands in one second (or some other time frame?).

However an 28 MHz 040 is still MUCH faster than a 50 MHz 030.  The
reason...this is where it gets tricky...I think its because the 040 can
execute more than one instruction per clock cycle, so its doing more work
per clock cycle than an 030....

 I think now its time for Ernie to jump in and correct any mistakes I've
made... :)
